I believe that they called this documentary "Hawaiian, The Legend of Eddie Aikau" because filmmakers wanted to show that Eddie was a native Hawaiian and that no one knows what happen to him. The angle was that Eddie Aikau not only a important piece of the surfing culture but also the Hawaiian culture as a whole and the fact that he spent so much time and effort devoting his life to the Hawaiian surfing culture and Hawaii itself makes his story on essential for building appreciation and understanding or Hawaiian culture. Since ESPN made the documentary we can understand that it was more focused on the surfing and his growth in the sport rather than Eddie's personal life. If this documentary was made by PBS or The History Channel, they would have focused more on his personal life rather than his surfing.
Subject - Theodore Roosevelt
Focus - It would Focus on his accomplishes as an American President.
Angle - The angle for the film would be that Theodore Roosevelt used his experience leading men in the Spanish-American war to help him lead America to a better place by his strong policies while in office.
